BRFD puts out early morning fire on Brice St.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a reported fire early Monday morning.

Firefighters arrived at 330 Brice St. and found “the rear of the home on fire,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

Members of the Baton Rouge Fire Department immediately went to work putting the fire out with the help of seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder.

BRPD says, “they entered through the front of the home and quickly extinguished the fire.”

It took firefighters a little more than 10 minutes to put the fire out and the structure sustained $30,000 in damages.

“The home did not have electricity,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

Investigators believe that someone may have been illegally occupying the home.

BRPD and EMS assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
