BRFD responds to house fire on Ranchwood Drive, one person displaced

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — An unattended pot on a stove sparked a house fire on Ranchwood Drive, according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department (BRFD).

Firefighters responded to the house fire after 6 p.m. on Friday evening. Upon arrival, firefighters saw the home’s resident outside. At this time the carport was on fire, according to BRFD.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the front rooms and carport.

BRFD said the Red Cross was contacted to help the displaced resident.
