BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — An investigation is underway after firefighters responded to a vacant house fire in the 2000 block of Gayosa Street Monday night.

Firefighters arrived on the scene at 8:24 p.m. to find the house engulfed in flames, according to a Baton Rouge Fire Department (BRFD) spokesperson. Crews were able to control the fire before neighboring homes could receive any damage.

BRFD said the cause of the fire is undetermined.
