BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge General Foundation and City Group Hospitality (CGH) will be hosting a Restaurant Week this week with 10% proceeds going to the CARE Initiative.
“We want everyone to know that when you’re there this week and you’re enjoying the people around you and you’re enjoying the atmosphere, you’re also helping our patients through their healthcare journey,” says BRG Foundation president Erik Showalter.
From Nov. 8-12, a number of restaurants will be participating, including:
- City Pork Highland
- City Pork Jefferson
- City Slice Pints & Pizza
- Proverbial Wine Bistro
- Rouj Creole
The CARE Initiative tackles issues individuals may have when seeking medical care, such as transportation, medical equipment, and food insecurity. The Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation will match donations up to $25,000, according to a news release.
“Our team sees the challenges patients face every day,” said Showalter. “Many patients struggle to get to the hospital for their radiation visits or to afford a ramp at their home after leaving our skilled nursing unit. Through this initiative, we’re going to make an impact together with our community partners, and we are happy to have City Group Hospitality be a part of it.”
“I am so excited about City Group Hospitality partnering with the Baton Rouge General,” said Stephen Hightower, Managing Partner, City Group Hospitality. “Their community outreach aligns with what we try to accomplish. Our mission is to always do our part for the Baton Rouge community.”
