BRPD identifies victims in possible drive-by shooting Friday night

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – Baton Rouge Police are investigating a shooting that took place on Friday on the 1000 block of Brightside Drive.

BRPD said that 22-year-old Michael Riley and his nephew five-year-old Carson Riley were shot while in the back seat of a Honda Accord around 6 p.m. Michael Riley died on the scene and Carson Riley was sent to the hospital but later died of his injuries. The others in the Accord were not injured. BRPD believes shots were fired from a passing vehicle into the Accord.
