BRPD: Bomb threat on Airline Hwy. cleared

The Baton Rouge Police Department was called to the scene of a bomb threat at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7. 

The bomb threat was called in from a local taxi service on 7310 Airline Hwy.

According to BRPD spokesman Sgt. L’Jean McKneely Jr., the report stated “that someone had left a suitcase or briefcase inside an accounting business near the intersection of Airline Highway and Winbourne Avenue.”

After dropping off the item, the individual exited the location and police subsequently cleared the area. 

BRPD said the area was cleared “as a precautionary measure.”
