BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) — Baton Rouge’s chief of police is asking residents to identify the person or people behind a nightclub shooting early Saturday.

The shooting at Stadium Ultralounge and Bar on Florida Boulevard, across from the former Bon Marche Mall, left seven people hurt. Two of the injuries are life-threatening, police said.

“We have been working with the community to address crime-related issues in Baton Rouge,” Police Chief Murphy Paul said in a statement Saturday. “I am confident the people we serve will do their part in helping us identify the persons responsible for these shootings.”

Investigators claim a physical altercation led to the shooting. Gunshots were fired both inside and outside of the bar, according to police.

Eyewitness video sent to BRProud.com shows when gunfire erupted.

The nightclub shooting comes amid a violent few days in Baton Rouge. A shooting on Jasper Ave. left two people hurt, while one person was injured by separate gunfire near Fred’s Bar in Tigerland.

The three late night shootings are unrelated, authorities said.

Police urge anyone with information on the incidents to call the Baton Rouge Police Department’s Violent Crime Unit, 225-389-4869, or the Crimestoppers tip line, 225-344-7867.
