Update: Teen whose body found at BREC park died from gunshot to the head

UPDATE as of 2:15p.m.

The East Baton Rouge Coroner has a cause of death for a teen whose body was found at Olympia BREC Park Wednesday afternoon.

Dr. Beau Clark said 18-year-old Dovonta London died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Police say London’s body was found in a parking lot at the park on Perkins Road around 12:48pm Wednesday.

Anyone having information on this death is urged to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at 389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.

The Baton Rouge Police Department identified the body found at Olympia BREC Park Wednesday afternoon.

Police say 18-year-old Davonta Deon London’s body was found in a parking lot at the park on Perkins Road around 12:48pm Wednesday.

The cause of death is unknown at this time.

Baton Rouge Police are investigating a body found near Olympia Stadium inside the BREC Park located at Kenilworth and Perkins Rd.

Police were called to the scene after someone phoned emergency dispatch saying a body was pushed from a car, had trauma to his head and appeared lifeless on the ground.

Police said the victim is an African-American male between the ages of 18-20. He did have identification on him however, pending notification of next of kin, his name has not been made public.

Police say the car is dark in color and anyone with potential information pertaining to the case should contact police. Additionally, anyone along Kenilworth who has a camera installed on their home with a street view is asked to give footage from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. to police.
