BRPD makes arrest in connection with deadly late night shooting on Wooddale Blvd.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – 50-year-old Shelton Watson, of Gretna was shot and killed on Sunday night.

28-year-old Tevin Gooden, of Baker has been arrested and faces multiple charges including Second Degree Murder.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Watson “was observed inside an apartment suffering from apparent gunshot injuries.”

Watson was pronounced dead at the scene.

BRPD says, “investigators believe that an argument led to the shooting.”

Gooden is currently in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and is facing these charges:

  • Second Degree Murder
  • Illegal Use of a Weapon
  • Obstruction of Justice
  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm
