BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Police Department responded to a shooting on Hundred Oaks Avenue on Sunday morning.

The police say they responded to a call about subjects in two vehicles shooting at each other in the 3600 block of Hundred Oaks Avenue. One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation ended with the arrest of two individuals from Baton Rouge.

Lawrence Brooks 46, and Marley Banks 33, were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

The suspects and their charges are provided below:

Lawrence Brooks:

  • Attempted Second Degree Murder (2 counts)
  • Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property
  • Illegal use of a Weapon

Marley Banks::

  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm
  • Obstruction of Justice

Around 12:08 p.m., officers responded to a second shooting on the corner of Perkins Rd. and Mullen Dr. BRPD says they believe both shootings are connected. Authorities said that the suspect was heading towards Siegen Lane.
