BRUSLY, La. (BRPROUD) — Brusly High School will be honoring the lives of two of its students who were killed in a New Year’s Eve crash.

The high school mourns 17-year-old Maggie Dunn, an eleventh grader, and 15-year-old Caroline Gill, a tenth grader, after they were killed in a crash as police were chasing a suspect.

A candlelight vigil for both students is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday at the Brusly High School football field.

The school said it will be offering counseling services to students through the school system’s Crisis Intervention Team. School officials said there will be a school-wide assembly on Tuesday to inform students of counseling resources available.

“These losses are sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school, especially our students,” the high school said.
