BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – A GoFundMe has been created by a beverage company to help support the construction of a pedestrian bridge after the closure of the Bob Pettit Boulevard Bridge.

Mockler Beverage Company organized the fundraiser for the Bob Pettit Boulevard Bridge that has been temporarily closed due to safety concerns. Bud Light has donated $5,000 to GoFundMe. The closure directly affects those that live around and use Tigerland. The mayor’s office estimates that the bridge will be closed until at least “the middle of next year”.

“Due to the lack of access into this area and the safety of patrons being compromised, we decided to create a GoFundMe to help build a pedestrian bridge for Tigerland so that we can safely bring the fun back into the area,” the description says.
