BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) — Five years after the flood of 2016, the YMCA of the Capital Area is opening a Wellness Center at their C. B. Pennington Jr. location along with a few new features.
The 2016 flood left the YMCA with $1.5 million in damage. Among general cosmetic enhancements, the Y has renovated the locker rooms, gymnasium, kids zone, and community room. The new Wellness Center features new cardio and weight training equipment.
To celebrate the reopening, the Y is hosting an open house event on Saturday, July 24 from 9 AM to 12 PM at 15550 Old Hammond Hwy.
