Frozen chicken company recalls products due to possible hard plastic contamination

WASHINGTON, La (BRPROUD) – A frozen food company in California is recalling more than 30,000 pounds of their products due to a possibility of plastic contamination.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Sunday, Sept. 26 that Ajinomoto Foods North America Inc. in Hayward, Ca has recalled 33,567 pounds of raw, frozen chicken, and vegetable potsticker products that may be contained with clear flexible and hard plastic.

Items that were produced on July 22 of this year containing 4.2 pounds of “Ling Ling POTSTICKERS CHICKEN & VEGETABLE” that have lot code 1911203 and a best buy date of Oct. 22, 2022, on the label are the products that are the subject of the recall, according to FSIS.

FSIS says that the problem was discovered after consumer complaints were reported to the firm of clear and hard plastic in both the potstickers and the chicken.

FSIS has no confirmed reports of consumption but says to direct any concerns to a healthcare provider. Click here for a list of other items that FSIS has recalled.
