UPDATE: EBRSO says deputies returned to his home this morning and found 41-year-old Matthew Strahan asleep on his patio. They took him into custody and charged him with aggravated assault on a peace officer, domestic abuse battery, and resisting an officer. He will be booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

CENTRAL, La. (BRPROUD) — Central residents in the Village Lakes area are asked to stay inside their homes Friday night as authorities search for an armed suspect.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a disturbance call at 7:15 p.m. regarding an allegedly inebriated person on Magnolia Crossing Drive. The man allegedly pointed a firearm at deputies before running into the woods nearby.

The suspect has been identified as 41-year-old Matthew Strahan.
