Certain SNAP recipients affected by Barry can apply for replacement benefits

BATON ROUGE, La. (FOX 44) (NBCC LOCAL 33) – If you are a SNAP recipient who was affected by Tropical Storm Barry, you may be eligible for replacement benefits.

According to the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services, this is for recipients who received benefits for June and/or July and who lost food purchased with benefits because of a power outage or other household issue related dut to Barry. .

There is a stipulation though. The power must have been out for 24+ hours.

You should report your food loss to DCFS on or before Friday, July 26th.
