Improvements are on the way for Baker High School thanks to U.S. Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.).

Senator Kennedy said that FEMA has provided a $5 million grant to the City of Baker School System.

That grant is intended to bring “improvements at Baker High School” after flooding in 2016 caused damage to the school.

“While our teachers and students are the heart of our schools, they need the right buildings and resources to teach and learn,” said Sen. Kennedy. “It’s been more than two years since Baker High School was flooded.  These repairs and improvements to the school are long overdue.”

Baker High School is located at 3200 Groom Rd.
