BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD)– The average price for a gallon of regular gas in Baton Rouge is now $3.11. According to GasBuddy.com, It is $0.08 cheaper than a week ago.
The head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, Patrick De Haan, said gas prices are based on supply and demand.
“A lot of the factors that impact either supply or demand change on a daily basis. There can be developments and changes in supply based on how much we produce. There can be changes in demand,” De Haan said.
He predicts prices will go up in the spring and decline around the fall.
Many Baton Rouge locals are letting their feeling be known and demanding answers.
“I feel like I have been robbed. You know, somebody price gouging because none of this makes sense,” Keeven Gross said.
“I feel like it is awful because I realized the cost of living is rising. They must realize people have to go to work every day to and from. And they are steadily going up on the prices,” Herma Davis said.
De Haan anticipates a price surge to start around March and drop around Labor Day.
