BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Austin Henriksen, 29, of Baton Rouge arrested Tuesday, May 9 after the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office investigated a tracking device attached to a woman’s car.

According to the affidavit, the woman called EBRSO on Wednesday, April 12 after she found something under her vehicle that she could not identify. The object was later identified as a Spytec GPS tracking device. It was found “underneath the driver’s rear passenger side of her vehicle,” according to the affidavit.

Two weeks after the investigation began, the investigator obtained a warrant and determined that the tracking device was registered to Henriksen. The affidavit states that the Baton Rouge man paid for the device with a credit card and was monitoring it. The investigator spoke with Henriksen on the phone. He declined to meet with the investigator at that time.

Henriksen was subsequently booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with one count of prohibited usage of a tracking device.

Bond has not been set.
