BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — An officer with the Baton Rouge Police Department was asked to investigate the possible sale of narcotics around 7:45 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25. Thomas Williams, 18, of Baton Rouge was one of two people seen by officers when they arrived at the scene. One of those individuals was able to run away while Williams was not successful in doing so.

After Williams was apprehended, officers found suspected marijuana, empty clear baggies and a digital scale during a search. According to the affidavit, “All of these items were found in a small white book sack that Williams was wearing on his back.”

Williams was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Tuesday, Sept. 26 and charged with possession with the intent to distribute schedule I, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting an officer.

The Baton Rouge man bonded out on the same day he was booked into jail.
