BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A Livingston Parish man pleaded guilty to interstate transmission of a threat to injure another. Charles T. Germany of Walker was accused of calling the office of U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy and leaving threatening messages.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Germany called Murphy’s office twice on Friday, May 27, 2022. Germany admitted to calling Murphy’s office from his home and threatening to hurt her.

United States Capitol Police, Federal Bureau of Investigation and Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office took part in the investigation.

Germany could face up to five years in jail.
