BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Huang Weng, 39, of Baton Rouge, was taken into custody after a months-long investigation into alleged prostitution taking place at multiple massage parlors.
A detective with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office launched the investigation on September 1, 2022. The initial investigation focused on the Wellness Spa in the 7800 block of Bluebonnet Boulevard.
“An unknown Asian female masseuse made an unsolicited negotiation to perform an erotic massage and sexual acts on the undercover detective in exchange for U.S. currency,” according to the affidavit.
Detectives performed a similar undercover investigation at three other massage parlors in Baton Rouge. Investigators say the same offer was made at:
- Rainbow Spa,
- D&C Massage
- New Fusion,
- Enjoy Spa,
- All Natural Spa,
- Wonderful Land Massage and
- B&B Spa.
As the investigation unfolded, deputies say Weng was seen in the parking lot of the All Natural Spa on Dec. 5, 2022. The affidavit stated that Weng “was arrested in January of 2022 for promoting prostitution after GPS device data showed he was transporting Asian female masseuses from out of state airports to local parlors.”
On Dec. 7, 2022, Weng went to the Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy, where he reportedly acted as a representative for a woman who was seeking a license to perform massages, according to investigators. The affidavit said he was determined to be a co-conspirator in the case.
A search of Weng and his residence uncovered $6,000 in cash. He reportedly admitted to being paid cash “for transporting Asian female masseuses,” according to the affidavit.
Weng was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on Monday, Feb. 27, and charged with promoting prostitution and pandering. He remains behind bars and no bond has been set.
