BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — An investigation into a drug trafficking ring ended with 10 people being sentenced to jail time by U.S. District Judge Brian A. Jackson.
The following people were sentenced to a year or more in federal prison: Reshide Wooden, 26, of Donaldsonville; Rokedrick Tyrell Williby, 32, of Donaldsonville; Denzel Dionte Gray, 30, of Donaldsonville; Malcolm Oliver, Jr., 33, of Napoleonville; Kelly Derrell Jones, 41, of Gonzales; David Burnell Lewis, 38, of Gonzales; Christopher Dee Harrod, 42, of Prairieville; Blain Joseph Slayton, 30, of Gonzales; Robert Jason Slayton, 52, of Plaquemine; and Raven Harris, 36, of Donaldsonville.
DOJ said, “Through their pleas, the defendants admitted involvement in a conspiracy to distribute kilogram quantities of methamphetamine between October and December 2021.”
The United States Department of Justice provided a breakdown of the charges and sentences for each person.
Reshide Wooden:
- Sentenced to 235 months.
- Convicted of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
- Must serve five years of supervised release after prison time ends.
- Ordered to give up firearm involved.
Rokedrick Tyrell Williby:
- Sentenced to 128 months.
- Convicted of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.
- Must serve five years of supervised release after prison time ends.
Denzel Dionte Gray:
- Sentenced to 140 months.
- Convicted of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
- Must serve five years of supervised release after prison time ends.
Malcolm Oliver, Jr.:
- Sentenced to 190 months.
- Convicted of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.
- Must serve five years of supervised release after prison time ends.
Kelly Derrell Jones:
- Sentenced to 46 months.
- Convicted of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
- Must serve four years of supervised release after prison time ends.
David Burnell Lewis:
- Sentenced to 28 months.
- Convicted of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of a substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine.
- Must serve four years of supervised release after prison time ends.
Christopher Dee Harrod:
- Sentenced to 96 months.
- Convicted of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
- Must serve four years of supervised release after prison time ends.
Blain Joseph Slayton:
- Sentenced to 46 months.
- Convicted of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
- Must serve four years of supervised release after prison time ends.
Robert Jason Slayton:
- Sentenced to 13 months.
- Convicted of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
- Must serve three years of supervised release after prison time ends.
Raven Harris:
- Sentenced to 60 months.
- Convicted of possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine.
- Must serve two years of supervised release after prison time ends.
