Cruise passenger not setting sail after ships collide

“We just heard a scrapping and all the glass shattering.”

Richard Machos said, he loves taking cruises but never thought he would see anything like this.

“We couldn’t believe our eyes, you know, it’s happening you could see the glass shattering and falling into the ocean and it was pretty unreal” said Machos.

Over the weekend, he Carnival Glory was docking when it hit the Carnival Legend, scrapping its bow.

“I was just hoping and praying no one got hurt.”

Video from different angles shows the wreckage, debris can be seen falling into the water.

A passenger on board the Glory said, the Captain quickly alerted them of what was happening.

“The Captain came on and says, we’ve got a little problem we hit another boat and we have a small hole” said Michael Maize.

He said, when he finally got off the boat to see the damage, it was beyond what he expected.

“We assess the damage ourselves and the whole side is hanging out.”

Leaving New Orleans, patched up and sailing to its next destination.

“Never take the ocean for granted.”

Machos said, they won’t be on a voyage anytime soon, sticking close to land.

“We’re going to take a little breather this next year. I’ll never be able to get those sounds out of my brain.”
