BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) has received federal approval to issue supplemental SNAP benefits for September.

SNAP emergency allotments are called supplements. DCFS says the supplemental SNAP benefits are in response to the pandemic.

SNAP recipients not already at their max will receive a supplement to bring them to the max. SNAP recipients who are already at their max will receive a $95 supplement. Find household maximums here.

DCFS says all supplemental distributions are scheduled to be loaded onto EBT cards by Sunday, Sept. 4.

Those who are waiting to hear back about their SNAP eligibility will have supplements loaded onto their cards on a rolling weekly basis once applications are approved. Find more information here.
