BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — On Wednesday morning, Baton Rouge Police Department arrested a 20-year-old man in connection to a shooting in December.

The suspect arrested was identified as Reginald Joseph Jr. According to BRPD, Joseph allegedly shot a man several times while attempting to buy drugs in the 1300 block of North 46th Street on Dec. 13.

Joseph has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.

A woman, Sheddranieca Mckenzie, 22, was also arrested Wednesday morning on charges of intent to distribute Schedule I drugs and possession of a firearm with controlled dangerous substance.

BRPD said multiple guns, drugs and money were confiscated during a search of Joseph’s apartment in Baker. Authorities said Joseph will be facing additional charges for the items found in the apartment.
