NAPOLEONVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) — A fight in Napoleonville Tuesday resulted in injuries and the arrest of seven people.

The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office said the fight took place in a home in the 400 block of Philosopher Street on Tuesday, Nov. 1. According to investigators, two male suspects forced their way into the home and began fighting.

During the fight, one deputy was hit by a juvenile, according to the sheriff’s office. Authorities said the fight resulted in minor injuries.

Deputies arrested two adults — Murphy Wesley, 18, of Napoleonville, and the homeowner, Ashley Girod, 37, of Prairieville. Wesley was arrested on charges of home invasion and criminal damage to property. Girod was arrested on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.

Five teenagers were also arrested in the case.

A 17-year-old was arrested on charges of battery of a police officer, resisting an officer, disturbing the peace by fighting, and interfering with a law enforcement investigation.

Two 15-year-olds were arrested on charges of disturbing the peace by fighting and resisting an officer.

Two 16-year-olds were arrested. One faces charges of home invasion and simple criminal damage to property and the other faces a charge of aggravated second-degree battery.

The sheriff’s office said three of the teenagers were ordered to be continued in custody and two were released to guardians.
