ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) — The sheriff’s office has arrested a suspect in connection to the armed robbery.

The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Marcus Sassau of Lafayette. He faces charges of one count of armed robbery, two counts of drug possession charges, one count of possession of firearm by a convicted felon, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center and his bond was set at $250,500.


ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) — The St. Martin Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying an armed robbery suspect.

On Sept. 26, deputies responded to a call regarding an armed robbery at a business in the 2300 block of Cecilia Senior High School Highway at around 2:20 p.m.

According to deputies, the suspect allegedly brandished a weapon, took an unknown amount of money and fled in a light-colored sedan.
