BATON ROUGE, La (WVLA/WGMB) — There’s been an alarming surge in domestic violence amid the lockdown. As areas begin to ease restrictions, victims’ advocates say for many, the worst could be yet to come.

There’s been an alarming surge in doemstic violence amid the lockdown. As areas begin to ease
restrictions, victims’ advocates say for many, the worst could be yet to come.

East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore says Baton Rouge has many outlets of resources
for domestic violence victims to help end the cycle of abuse.

“An indicator of the next act between partners could be deadly is strangulation hands around
the neck or choking to the point of unconsciousness that is rally a tell tell sign that
experts warn could turn deadly,” says Moore.
