DoRight4LA Winner: Evangel Christian Academy’s Trey White

Local News

Each month, FOX 44 joins with the LHSAA to tell the stories of sportsmanship here in Louisiana high school athletics. This month’s winner comes to us from Evangel Christian Academy.

Senior wrestler and defensive tackle Detremicious White is a champion at many levels in his high school career: city, state, regional and national, but both his work on and off the mat are what earned him this award.

White has helped teach children at the Educational Center for Autism in Shreveport, LA, and he says the more time he spends with the children the better the experiences become.

“As I started to work with them, they opened up to me more, and I realized that these kids are genuinely good-hearted, purebred kids and that they’re just amazing to be around. I love just being around those kids. They’re my favorite,” White says.
