Dozens of students honored at America, My Oyster Association ceremony

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The America, My Oyster Association held a special ceremony at the Goodwood Library on Saturday, June 19.

25 students were recognized for their participation in the “Building a Better America, Today” program.

The gathering took place from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and students were honored after learning about subjects such as diversity, equity and inclusion.

The President of America, My Oyster Association, Prof. Bea Gyimah, says, that the young people in Louisiana and America “each have the power within them to make positive social change in America by understanding the importance of empathy, and being able to understand other people’s stories and knowing that each person matters.”
