ASSUMPTION PARISH, La (BRPROUD) — A couple was arrested after drugs were discovered in a vehicle during a traffic stop in Plattenville early Tuesday morning.

Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop near a local business. Officers came in contact with the driver, Harold J. Folse III, 48, and then requested a K-9 unit to the location. The K-9 conducted an open air sniff and alerted that the car contained illegal drugs.

Officers searched the vehicle and found quantities of methamphetamine, valium, and assorted paraphernalia was seized.

Folse and the passenger, Glynda Lee Rogers, 42, was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charged of possession of valium (diazepam), possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Folse was also charged with disregarding a stop sign.

The couple remains incarcerated with bonds sets at $60,000.
