The East Baton Rouge Council on Aging, in partnership with Build Baton Rouge, is set to co-host “Roof Reset” Application Assistance Days later this week.

The program will spend roughly a million dollars on fixing damaged roofs for homeowners 60 years of age or older, who cannot afford repairs of full replacements. It’s made possible thanks to block grants from the City-Parish and the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development. The service is free to eligible applicants , living within the Baton Rouge city limits, who meet certain income guidelines.

Representatives with the EBRCOA and Build Baton Rouge will be available Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28 from 3 – 5 p.m. at the EBRCOA Capital City Event Center (6955 Florida Boulevard) to help seniors complete the intake application. Please bring all necessary documentation, such as State Identification and Social Security Card, Utility Bill, Mortgage Statement or Property Taxes, Proof of Income, 2 Bank Statements and a copy of Home Insurance.
