BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A fight at a Baton Rouge nightclub ended with one person hurt and another facing charges.

Courtney McCray, 38, of Baton Rouge, was arrested after an investigation by the Baton Rouge Police Department. There reportedly was a fight between two groups and a stabbing at Club Bella Noche, 8190 Plank Road, Baton Rouge around 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 1. McCray was in one group, and the person who was stabbed was in the other.

According to the affidavit, “As the fight escalated McCray armed herself with a knife and once armed, stabbed the victim twice in the right arm.”

The weapon severed nerves and struck the victim’s main artery. BRPD reviewed video footage that reportedly showed the altercation.

An officer also was cut while trying to break up the fight. They received treatment and were released at the scene, according to BRPD.

Two days after the incident, the person who was hurt identified McCray in a photo lineup as the person who stabbed her.

McCray was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, Oct. 12. She was charged with attempted second-degree murder, disturbing the peace/fistic and aggravated battery. The Baton Rouge woman remains behind bars on $110,000 bond.
