BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Baton Rouge Police say they’ve arrested a group of local gang members following two armed robberies just before 9 p.m. Oct. 2 in the 3300 block of North Acadian Thruway and the 7700 block of Scenic Highway.

Bradley Payne, 18; Jermonte Clark, 19; Tawayne Bridgewater Jr., 19; and two juveniles were arrested by BRPD Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and the U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force. The Baton Rouge Police Armed Robbery Detectives conducted the investigation, according to a Facebook post from the police department.

All suspects were charged under the criminal street gang statute, according to BRPD.

Two Glock firearms were seized from Payne, police said, one of which was reported as stolen. He was charged with two counts of armed robbery with a firearm, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, two counts of criminal street gang, one count of access device fraud and one count of false imprisonment.

Clark was charged with two counts of armed robbery with a firearm, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, two counts of criminal street gang, one count of access device fraud, one count of false imprisonment and one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana (525 grams).

Bridgewater was charged with two counts of armed robbery with a firearm, two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, two counts of criminal street gang, one count of access device fraud and one count of false imprisonment.

Three guns were seized from the 15- and 17-year-old, police said, including two pistols and a Glock that was reported as stolen with a Glock switch, which lets the gun function as an automatic weapon. Their names are not being released due to their ages. Both were charged with two counts of armed robbery with a firearm, two counts of illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, two counts of criminal street gang, one count of access device fraud and one count of false imprisonment.

According to BRPD, the two juveniles also have pending charges of illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, illegal possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a machine gun by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
