CENTRAL, La. (BRPROUD) — The Central Police Department is investigating a crash that happened near Greenwell Springs Road Wednesday evening.
According to Central Police Chief Roger Corcoran, officers responded to a crash shortly after 4 p.m. near Greenwell Springs Road and J L Fairchild Road.
After an investigation, officers discovered a black sedan was headed south “in a reckless manner” on Greenwell Springs Road, crossed the center line into the northbound lane, and collided head-on with a white SUV, according to Corcoran.
Corcoran said the driver of the black sedan was in critical condition and the driver of the white SUV was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is assisting with the crash.
According to the Central Police Department, “Greenwell Springs between Denham and Hooper Road is now open.”
