BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge Parish School System is proud to announce the continuation of the “Listen and Learn” tour, an initiative to empower community members to have their voices heard.  

This event comprises a series of town hall meetings with Superintendent Sito Narcisse at various schools across the district. These events serve as a safe space for families, stakeholders and residents to provide valuable feedback and collaborate on solutions for pressing issues affecting our community and education system.  

“‘The ‘Listen and Learn’ tour exemplifies our dedication to engaging our community in decision-making processes,” said Narcisse. “We believe that the collective wisdom of our community members is invaluable in addressing the challenges we face in education. Your voice matters.” 

The next town hall in this series is scheduled for 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24 at Belaire High School, 12121 Tams Drive.

Here are upcoming town hall meetings.

  • Nov. 1: 5:30-7 p.m. at Woodlawn High School, 15755 Jefferson Hwy.
  • Nov. 6: 5:30-7 p.m. at Glasgow Middle, 1676 Glasgow Ave.
  • Nov. 9: 5:30-7 p.m. at Capitol Middle School, 5100 Greenwell Springs Rd.
  • Nov. 14: 5:30-7 p.m. at Jefferson Terrace Academy, 5601 Upton Drive.
  • Nov. 15: 5:30-7 p.m. at Scotlandville Magnet High School, 9870 Scotland Ave.

Geno McLaughlin with EBR Schools said this forum is an opportunity for the community to play an active role in shaping the future of education in the region. By participating in these town hall meetings, attendees can work collaboratively to find solutions to issues that matter most.
