BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A former East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office deputy is accused of sending inappropriate text messages to a 15-year-old girl.
According to the sheriff’s office, Joseph Pizzalato, 44, was arrested and charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile.
The victim reportedly told deputies during an interview that Pizzalato began texting her weeks ago and called her “babe” but around midnight on Sept. 15, he “began talking sexual things.” The victim voluntarily gave her phone and his cellphone number to investigators.
Arrest documents said the phone showed text messages between Pizzaloto and the victim. A cellphone number matched the one Pizzaloto gave during his interview, arrest documents said.
He was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. EBRSO said he worked with the sheriff’s office for six years in corrections and then on the Uniform Patrol. He was fired before his arrest.
