CENTRAL, La. (BRPROUD) – A juvenile is facing multiple charges including hit-and-run driving after a crash on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
The Central Police Department said they received reports about a hit-and-run crash and reckless driving on Hooper Road around 3 p.m. Police learned from witnesses that a car fled the crash scene and was swerving between lanes until it went off the road and hit a culvert.
Officers found the car, a black Audi, and suspected that drugs could have played a part in the crash. CPD said the juvenile was evaluated at a local hospital and took a chemical test. Officers are waiting for the results of that test.
Along with hit-and-run driving, the juvenile was also charged with possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. They were then turned over to a parent.
