Local businessman donates AC units for elderly EBR residents

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A Baton Rouge businessman has donated over 100 air conditioning units to be given away to elderly residents in East Baton Rouge Parish.

Jim Bernhard, the founder and partner at Bernhard Capital Partners, donated 150 air conditioning window units to be given away to residents aged 60 and older to help them stay cool during the hot weather.

The Louisiana Leadership Institute and the East Baton Rouge Council on Aging will give out the units beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25 at 5763 Hooper Road.

Only elderly residents who live in East Baton Rouge Parish are eligible for this giveaway.
