CLINTON, La. (BRPROUD) — A 17-year-old died in a two-vehicle crash on Sunday, Oct. 22 on LA 67 around 5 p.m.
The teenager was driving a 2010 Mazda 6 and while traveling north on LA 67, a 2012 Dodge Ram 4500 was heading south on the same road.
“The Mazda failed to negotiate a left-hand curve, reentered the roadway, and crossed the centerline,” according to the Louisiana State Police.
The truck was then hit head-on by Morgan Johnson, 17, of Ethel’s vehicle. Neither driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Johnson was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene of the crash. The truck driver “sustained minor injuries,” according to the Louisiana State Police.
LSP said, “Toxicology samples were taken from both drivers and will be submitted for analysis.”
The investigation into this deadly crash remains ongoing.
