EAST FELICIANA PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – With online learning on the rise, many homes in rural areas don’t have adequate internet. In some cases, they have none at all.

East Feliciana Parish is asking the public for their input to help bring wide and speedy internet into the parish through The Delta Broadband Mapping Project.

The project is the response to rural areas lacking access to critical services such as healthcare, distance learning and remote work through the internet. A section of the grant application is to prove the need for it throughout the parish.

The project is year-long and needs as many residents as possible to take the internet speed test to develop an accurate representation availability.

To participate in the project, it must be done in your residence because the test reads wherever it is taken. The only information needed is the address of where the test is being performed.
