BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The EBR Coroner’s Office has released preliminary autopsy findings on the mother and son found dead in the parish.

EBR Coroner William “Beau” Clark, M.D. says 24-year-old Kaylen Johnson’s manner of death as homicide and her cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds. Dr. Clark says she was pregnant at the time of her death.

The coroner says two-year-old Kaden Johnson’s manner of death was homicide and the cause of death required further studies but hypothermia is suspected. He noted no trauma.

20-year-old Brynnen Murphy was arrested in connection to the deaths of Kaylen and Kaden on Monday, March 14. He faces two counts of first-degree murder.
