EBR Schools recognize September as Suicide Prevention Month

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – East Baton Rouge Schools is recognizing September as Suicide Prevention Month with a special guest and circle time.

I CARE Program is an alcohol, drug and violence prevention, school-based program that is owned by the EBR School System and the Baton Rouge community. The program is designed for students in pre-kindergarten through the 12th grade in all public and participating non-public schools in East Baton Rouge Parish.

I Care’s theme for the month is: Life is Beautiful.

“We are striving to teach and foster Growth Mindsets with our students and they are certainly serving as our Sunshine,” East Baton Rouge Schools posted on Facebook.

I CARE Specialist, Urlecia Selders, visited Wedgewood Elementary and provided prevention education and services to the school community.
