BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Early voting is officially underway for the municipal primary election on March 25, and voters in East Baton Rouge Parish are voting on five things, including a new district judge and four proposals regarding schools.
EBR Schools Superintendent Sito Narcisse said voting for proposals 1-4 will help the school system continue to:
- Expand early childhood education
- Invest in teacher training and literacy coaching
- Offer paid internships for high school seniors
- Create new schools to include specialized fields unique to community needs
- Increase “on-track” to graduate rates for 9th graders
- Expand opportunities to gain college credit and save money on college costs later
- Expand our Multi-Tiered Systems to support the mental health and social-emotional needs of students and staff

Residents who want to vote early may do so in person at the Registrar of Voters Office or at other designated locations in the area from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Saturday, March 18.
