BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Authorities arrested a man for allegedly trafficking drugs across state lines.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO) was notified by Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office about drugs being transported by bus from Houston to Baton Rouge. EBRSO authorities located the suspect at the Capital Area Transit System (CATS) bus terminal on Florida Street.
A search of a bus conducted by authorities yielded a half-pound of fentanyl (valued at approximately $16,000) and a half-pound of cocaine (valued at approximately $10,000).
An FMK 9mm handgun and ski mask were also found by EBRSO during the bus search, however, it is unknown whether these items belonged to the suspect.
The suspect was identified by EBRSO as 60-year-old Dwight Wilson. He faces two counts of possession with intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics.
