BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO) has given an update on the Glen Oaks area shooting that killed a 16-year-old girl and left her mother and brother hospitalized.

A mother, her adult son and teenage daughter arrived in a vehicle at a residence on the 6000 block of Avacado Drive on Friday planning to fight one of the residents, according to EBRSO.

The adult son, 20-year-old Tremayne Lindsey, was reported to have gotten out of the vehicle and began shooting with an assault rifle. A relative of the one of residents grabbed a firearm and returned fire.

The mother, son and daughter were struck during the exchange of gunfire. The mother is expected to recover, but 16-year-old Tremiyah Lindsey was pronounced dead on the scene.

Tremayne Lindsey was brought to a hospital and is currently in critical condition. Upon his release, he will be charged with five counts of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated criminal damage to property.

EBRSO said the investigation is ongoing and other charges may be pending.
