BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office was called to a “suspected pedestrian fatality” around 7 a.m. on Thursday, December 8.

EBRSO says that it appears someone was hit while walking on the side of the road.

The body was found in the 4000 block of Victoria Drive.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office was called and the body of the pedestrian was taken from the scene.

The coroner’s office identified the pedestrian as 35-year-old Jeremy J. Gnagie.

No vehicle was present when deputies arrived at the scene.

EBRSO is awaiting autopsy results to determine whether this is a case of hit-and-run.
