BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A verbal dispute led to a deadly shooting on Vancouver Dr. early Friday morning, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office was called to a reported shooting a little after 12:15 a.m.
Upon arrival at 3115 Vancouver Dr., EBRSO said that “witnesses stated that there has been an ongoing verbal dispute which led to Chambers shooting Wells, his mother’s live-in boyfriend.”
18-year-old Joseph Chambers is accused of shooting Jumal Wells, 47.
Chambers is currently awaiting booking into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and is facing these charges:
- Second Degree Murder
- Illegal Use of a Weapon
