EBRSO: Stolen firearm used in domestic dispute leads to arrest of convicted felon, mother in critical condition

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A detective with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office Homicide Division was called to the Reserve at White Oak Apartments around 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16.

The call was in reference to a domestic shooting at an apartment.

Upon arrival, “EBRSO deputies located a 48-year-old Black female with multiple gunshot wounds to the face and upper extremities,” according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office.

The woman has been identified as the mother of the alleged shooter.

The alleged shooter in this case is 26-year-old Dondi Terrell Lee, Jr.

Lee, Jr. was also shot and both victims were transported to a local hospital.

The 26-year-old was shot by a semi-automatic handgun during a tussle with his father.

That handgun was allegedly used to shoot the 48-year-old mother.

The father detained his son until deputies arrived at the scene.

Dondi Terrell Lee, Jr. was arrested and charged with:

  • Attempted Second Degree Murder
  • Possession of Firearm Or Carrying Concealed Weapon By A Person Convicted Of Certain Felonies
  • Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault
  • Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms

The female shooting victim is currently in critical condition and the alleged shooter is expected to survive.

The affidavit states that the “firearm used in the commission of this crime is reported stolen.”

Lee, Jr. is currently in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and no bond has been set at this time.
